Life Sciences Research Assistant

Role Overview

Help shape next-generation AI systems by creating rigorous, expert-level life sciences evaluation tasks grounded in authentic scientific research. This remote contractor role focuses on real-world research artifacts, technical challenges, multi-step problem-solving, and objective evaluation criteria. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complex life sciences research evaluation tasks, including experimental design critiques, protocol analyses, and primary data interpretation.
• Source and synthesize raw experimental data, laboratory protocols, technical literature, and supplementary materials.
• Document the appropriate methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.
• Create comprehensive, multi-item rubrics evaluating methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity.
• Ensure tasks reflect the ambiguity, nuance, and depth of real scientific work rather than simplified or hypothetical scenarios.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to refine deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience, including primary data analysis and scientific protocols.
• Experience with protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.
• Strong scientific reasoning, source synthesis, methodological evaluation, and data interpretation skills.
• Strong written English skills and experience drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.
• Comfort working with CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents.
• Close attention to detail and a commitment to rubric fidelity and objective task design.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.
• Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications.
• Completion time varies based on the task, your experience, and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks submitted each week.
• Selected candidates are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.

Compensation

$30 to $50 per hour.
