Research Assistant / Research Technician – Cancer Genomics & Therapeutics | Stanford University Position: Research Assistant / Research Technician Lab: Sheltzer Lab Institute: Stanford University School of Medicine Department: Cancer Biology / Genomics Location: Palo Alto, California, USA Start Date: July 2026 or earlier Commitment: Minimum 24 months About the Research The Sheltzer Lab at Stanford University is hiring research assistants/technicians for multiple projects focused on cancer genomics and therapeutics . The lab studies aneuploidy in cancer , a condition where cancer cells gain or lose entire chromosomes. Using CRISPR-based chromosome engineering , the lab investigates how aneuploidy drives tumor growth and uncovers genetic vulnerabilities that can be targeted for therapy. CRISPR-based gene targeting Cancer cell biology & therapeutics Mammalian cell culture Molecular cloning Western blotting Flow cytometry Data analysis and experimental interpretation Who Should Apply This role is ideal for recent graduates planning to apply to PhD or MD programs , but applicants from diverse backgrounds will also be considered.
