Eligible candidates must meet VHA policy requirements and submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment. Qualifications Basic Requirements United States citizenship (non‑citizen appointments only if no qualified citizens available). MD or DO degree from a VA‑approved school. Full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Completion of a VA‑approved residency in a core specialty or an acceptable alternative training sequence (see detailed program standards). Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred: Fellowship or residency training in interventional radiology, board‑certified or board‑eligible. Physical Requirements Moderate lifting (15‑44 lbs), light carrying ( Duties Staff Interventional Radiologist within the Imaging Service, reporting to the Interventional Radiology Section Chief. Perform all aspects of imaging services, including interventional procedures, interpretation, and critical findings communication. Provide consultation, comparative reports, and participate in clinical conferences and committees. Oversee patient safety concerning contrast administration and adverse reactions. Assist in training, supervision, and mentorship of radiology residents. Deliver education to medical staff through conferences and lecture series. Participate in quality control, quality management, and departmental committees. May hold administrative or managerial responsibilities as assigned.
