Crane Mechanic

Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We are currently in need of Crane Mechanics in Texas.


Responsibilities :

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair cranes and associated lifting equipment.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems.
• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Diagnose hydraulic system problems involving pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, motors, and fittings.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, switches, sensors, relays, controls, and limit switches.
• Repair or replace brakes, bearings, gears, cables, sheaves, drums, winches, and other mechanical components.
• Perform engine, transmission, drivetrain, and cooling-system repairs as required.
• Inspect wire rope, hooks, blocks, outriggers, booms, and other crane components for wear or damage.
• Perform operational testing after repairs to ensure equipment is functioning safely.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Identify unsafe equipment conditions and communicate necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow OSHA requirements, site safety procedures, and equipment lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with emergency breakdowns and field repairs as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Qualifications :

• 3+ years of experience repairing cranes, heavy equipment, or similar industrial machinery preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel systems.
• Experience troubleshooting cranes or other lifting equipment.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment, multimeters, pressure gauges, and standard mechanic tools.
• Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
• Understanding of crane safety systems and load-handling equipment.
• Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Pass a drug screen and background check.
