**Pay Rate:

**$20.00/Hr. - $25/Hr. On W2Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. as a start time for an 8-hour day. Overtime as needed.

**Job Summary:

**The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests, accurately documenting results, and ensuring materials meet established quality specifications before release. This role requires attention to detail, timely testing, accurate data entry, and effective communication regarding quality issues.

**Key Responsibilities

**

• Perform quality control testing according to established procedures and enter results accurately into SAP within required timeframes.

• Report out-of-specification results and process deviations to management promptly.

• Support the nonconforming material process, including data entry, investigations, assignments, and closure.

• Prepare, manage, and test samples according to laboratory procedures.

• Operate laboratory equipment, including viscometers, softening point testers, Gardner equipment, and other testing instruments.

• Completel required equipment calibration, certification, and pre-use checks.

• Document and report test results accurately while maintaining data integrity.

• Prioritize testing based on customer requirements, production schedules, and research and development needs.

• Review and report production data, maintain records, and support plant equipment calibration.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Follow laboratory safety requirements and maintain good housekeeping practices.

• Comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, and internal environmental, health, and safety guidelines.

• Participate in food safety, HACCP, and GMP meetings and activities.

• Conduct GMP and glass inspections.

• Perform additional duties to support quality and laboratory operations.

**Key Accountabilities

**

• Ensure accurate and verified test results so that only materials meeting quality specifications are released for sale.

• Complete testing on time to meet scheduled product release dates.

• Communicate promptly when quality issues may delay material release.

• Manage nonconforming materials and support timely resolution.

• Maintain accurate records and protect the integrity of laboratory data.

**Required Qualifications and Experience

**

• Previous laboratory experience is required.

• Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of statistics preferred, with the ability to learn and understand:

• Statistical Process Control (SPC)

• Control charts

• Process capability indices (Cp and Cpk)

• Standard deviation

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
