Service Advisor

We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Service Advisor to join a local diesel mechanic shop. In this role, you will serve as the main point of contact between customers and the service team, helping ensure repairs are communicated clearly and jobs move through the shop efficiently.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in automotive, diesel, truck, or equipment repair environments who has strong communication and organizational skills.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers and gather information about vehicle or equipment service needs.
• Create and maintain service repair orders.
• Communicate customer concerns and repair needs to diesel technicians.
• Provide customers with updates on repair progress, estimated completion times, and recommended services.
• Prepare estimates and explain repair costs and services.
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and on time.
• Schedule service appointments and manage the daily service workflow.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer questions.
• Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, and service records.
• Follow up with customers regarding completed repairs and additional service needs.
• Help maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused service department.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, Automotive Service Advisor, or similar role preferred.
• Experience in a diesel, automotive, truck, heavy equipment, or mechanic shop environment strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair terminology.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to explain repair recommendations and service needs clearly.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working closely with technicians, customers, and management.
• Proficient with computers and service or repair order systems.
• Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented.
