SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job. Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will: Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates) Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers Join in engagement and social activities with other interns We recruit highly skilled students for potential future full‑time employment opportunities, upon graduation. Our Personal Lines team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL Support Personal Lines Underwriting Strategy initiatives through data analysis, research, and performance monitoring across products, segments, and geographies. Analyze underwriting, pricing, and portfolio performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging risks, and present findings to business leaders. Assist in the development and evaluation of underwriting strategies, guidelines, and appetite enhancements to support profitable growth. Partner with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Product, Pricing, Actuarial, and Analytics, to support strategic projects and business initiatives. Create reports, presentations, and dashboards that translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for decision‑making. Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer Develop data and Power BI reports for field and customers to articulate value to agent partners and customers Assist in various projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing and evolving business environment WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in risk management, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related analytical field. Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or advanced program Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills Excel, SQL and Power BI experience preferred EEO statement The Hanover values diversity in the workplace and among our customers. Compensation The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short‑term incentive), long‑term incentive or spot recognition awards.
