Floating Requirement: May float to NICU, L&D, or First Hill Campus

Weekend Work: Required to meet staffing needs

Unit Information

This position involves care within the Postpartum Unit, focusing on:

• Post-partum vaginal or cesarean delivery
• Tubal ligation and circumcision
• GYN surgeries
• Couplet care
• Low risk antepartum care
• Transition nursery

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Administering blood and blood products
• Managing drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
• Operating wound vacs
• Administering medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Providing OB-GYN care
• Delivering post-operative care and support for vaginal deliveries
• Managing postpartum readmissions
• Overseeing normal newborn care, including thermoregulation and glucose management

The role involves providing interdisciplinary support to patients in the following age groups:

• Postpartum care for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Special procedures including GYN surgeries and couplet care

Orientation and Training

Orientation may involve online modules that are self-reported and recorded annually. Additional training hours may be required.

Additional Information

Travel staff may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed. Refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment. Communication devices needed to perform duties will be provided at no cost. If not provided, work-related cell phone use will be reimbursed up to $50 monthly.
