Business Strategy & Planning Director

Business Strategy & Planning Director (Chief of Staff to the President Carelon Pharmacy) Hybrid work model: associates are expected to be in‑office 3 days per week to foster collaboration while allowing flexibility for productivity and work‑life balance. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a reasonable commuting distance from an office. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance will not be considered, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Key Responsibilities: Partner closely with executive leadership, including direct support of the President CarelonRx Pharmacy, to define strategy and success criteria. Monitor and synthesize business performance, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership. Translate strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects, priorities, and timelines, ensuring alignment and attainment of enterprise strategic plans. Support leadership operating cadence (e.g., key meetings, decision forums) and ensure follow‑through on priorities and commitments. Document strategic priorities such as external environment and report on customer insight research initiatives. Build and leverage relationships across the organization to solve complex business problems and drive cross‑functional alignment. Propose opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment and evolving business priorities. Develop, implement, and monitor line‑of‑business planning and project activities. Produce executive‑level materials, insights, and communications to support leadership decision making. Travel as necessary to sites and other locations. Minimum Requirements: BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, including prior leadership experience and 3 years of strategic planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experiences: Master’s degree preferred. Experience in strategy, consulting, or business planning. Cross‑functional leadership experience. Project management experience. Strong executive communication and presentation skills. Data analysis capabilities. Compensation & Location: Salary range $137,920 – $248,256 annually. Locations: Illinois; New Jersey; New York; Virginia.
