Ambulatory Medical Director / Associate Program Director – Internal Medicine

Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking an Internal Medicine physician leader to serve as Ambulatory Medical Director for General Internal Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital , with an additional appointment as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program .

This is an academic leadership opportunity combining ambulatory practice leadership, clinical care, graduate medical education, quality improvement, faculty development, and health equity within a leading academic safety-net health system.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physician leadership for the General Internal Medicine ambulatory practice.
• Partner with GIM and Grady leadership to improve access, continuity, workflow, patient experience, quality, and clinical outcomes .
• Oversee and enhance the resident continuity clinic and ambulatory educational experience .
• Support resident evaluation, mentoring, career development, remediation, and professional development.
• Participate in Clinical Competency Committee, Annual Program Evaluation, accreditation, recruitment, and residency program improvement activities.
• Develop and support ambulatory curriculum and faculty development .
• Lead and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives .
• Support resident and faculty scholarship and academic development .
• Advance health equity and care for medically and socially complex and underserved populations.
• Collaborate across Morehouse School of Medicine, Grady Health System, and multidisciplinary clinical and educational teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Board certified in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for Georgia medical licensure and Morehouse faculty appointment.
• Experience in ambulatory Internal Medicine.
• Experience teaching and supervising residents and/or medical students.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate across clinical, educational, and administrative teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior ambulatory or physician leadership experience.
• Graduate medical education or program leadership experience.
• Experience with quality improvement, patient safety, or practice transformation.
• Experience caring for medically and socially complex populations in an academic or safety-net setting.
