Emergency Department - CMC - RN - Cayuga Medical Center


We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Cayuga Medical Center. The RN will provide comprehensive patient and family support, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care across their full scope of practice. This role involves participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care programs, as well as collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of patients.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and support to patients and families.
• Collect and analyze observation data to inform care plans.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care strategies.
• Act as Charge Nurse to coordinate patient movement, staff assignments, and communicate with EMS and community partners.
• Collaborate with triage nurses, house supervisors, and other department staff to optimize patient throughput and bed management.
• Ensure effective communication and conflict resolution among team members.

Department Overview:
Our ED features 21 monitored beds, 5 psych-safe treatment rooms, and 3 hall beds (with additional hall beds available as needed). Staffing consists of nurses working 4-5 patients each, supported by a dedicated case manager, social worker, ED techs trained in phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient safety, along with 3 MDs and 2 PAs covering 24-hour shifts. We are a chest pain accredited organization and a primary stroke center.


Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
Hourly Pay Rate: $64.32
