Description: About the Facility: Level I Trauma Center Magnet Designated Comprehensive Stroke Center 794 Beds

Unit Information: 28 Beds Average of 60-75 cases per day

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Outpatient and inpatient cases Trauma cases including gunshot wounds and stabbings Transplant cases (kidney and heart) General, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neuro surgeries Open-heart surgeries and CABG Hybrid Room: Handles 5-10 cases per day depending on the schedule Adults only Types of cases include TAVR, AAA, Endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions 20% of cases involve pediatric patients for open-heart surgeries

Required Skills: Able to scrub and circulate for critical care cases Experience in trauma settings preferred EPIC experience is necessary Support within the Department: Charge nurse available without patient assignment Bedside monitoring by anesthesiologists Resource Nurses and Educators available Technology/Equipment: EMR system used is EPIC IV Pump system is Alaris Med dispensing system is Pyxis Scheduling: Weekend rotation required every fourth weekend Shifts operate 24/7 with a skeleton crew during nighttime and weekends for trauma and urgent cases only All requests for time off approved by the manager Holiday Requirements: Holiday coverage required On-Call: Dependent on shifts/service line with a 30-minute response time required Sleeping room available for on-call team members
