Accounting Manager

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Manager in Fairfield, NJ. Overview: A growing manufacturing company in Central New Jersey is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. This position will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and process improvement initiatives across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, cost accounting experience, and a proactive approach to driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
- Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
- Manage multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
- Perform financial analysis, variance reporting, and management reporting
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal control requirements
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and inventory-related accounting
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Drive process improvements, automation projects, and ERP system enhancements
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
