Welder - 1st Shift

Welder Job DescriptionDWM Holdings is seeking the ideal candidate to fill a 1st shift Production Team Welder position. The Production Team Welder will be responsible for fitting and welding of steel and aluminum using a MIG and/or TIG process, and work on special projects as required. This person reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a member of the Production department.Responsibilities:Understands and applies safe work practices in accordance with ANSI Z49.1 and company policyFamiliar with welding documentation such as WPS, PQR, WPQR.Able to locate and understand shielding gas, filler metal, and base material certificationsExperienced in welding to AWS D1.1 Structural Steel and AWS D1.2 Structural Aluminum standardsProficient with GMAW (MIG) using solid wire and metal core (FCAW experience is useful)Capable of performing fillet welds in the flat and horizontal positions, fixed and rotatedConsistently produces structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing welds in a fast-paced production environmentPerforms in-process quality inspections of own work and executes high-quality repairs quicklyTakes full ownership of a welding machine and adheres to a daily/weekly PM scheduleMaintains a clean and organized work area in accordance with 6S principles and company policyUtilizes thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to fabricate partsFills cavities or corrects malformation in parts and hammers out bulges and bends in metal workpiecesRequirements:Safety conscious and thoroughly familiar with ANSI Z49.1, Safety in Welding, Cutting, and Allied ProcessesThrives in a collaborative team settingAble to pass a practical weld test on company products, using sample drawings and WPSAbility to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in challenging positions and tight areas)Must be able to lift up to 75 poundsDemonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learningAbility to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as blueprints, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manualsMust be reliable, self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic.Willing to work 40+ hours a week, 1st shift (7 am - 3:30 pm or 5:30 pm)Associates Degree in Welding Technology highly preferred.
