IT Support Specialist, Associate

Position Overview Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist, Associate. Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, Learning Environments, the IT Support Specialist, Associate is responsible for delivering timely troubleshooting and technical assistance for classroom technology to ensure minimal instructional disruptions. This role also provides on‑demand, in‑person support to faculty and students for classroom technology, resources, and academic assistance. NOTE: This role requires on‑site work. Remote or hybrid work options are not available. Key Responsibilities Technical Support Report status of technology issues through tools such as ServiceNow, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Support resolution of help tickets for technology requests or incident reports. Inventory Management Procure and maintain product, supply, and inventory lists, including surplus. Customer Engagement and Technology Demonstration Provide equipment demonstrations of devices and services, including tours of IT/AV enabled spaces. Maintain customer and vendor relationships. Team Coordination Direct student and temporary employee support for IT/AV enabled spaces. Operational Support and Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Some moderate to heavy lifting, as needed. Flexible and evening hours, as needed. Occasional travel to satellite campus, as needed. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications Strong customer service skills. Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. ServiceNow experience. Experience in IT/AV enabled spaces. Experience working in educational settings. Experience providing technical support. IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification.
