Materials Testing Laboratory Technician Tampa, FL, US 5 days ago Requisition ID: 1241 We are seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Lab Technician to join our team in our Tampa office. As part of a two-person lab team, you will be responsible for soils and aggregates testing for multiple infrastructure projects throughout the Tampa Bay area. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of construction materials laboratory and/or field-testing experience High School Diploma or equivalent Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience using laboratory reporting software Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred Current certifications such as: ACI NDG CTQP NICET (Soils, Concrete, and/or Asphalt) Position Summary The CMT Lab Technician will perform routine laboratory testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other common construction materials in our lab. This position reports directly to the Lab Manager and Construction Services Department Manager. Perform construction materials testing for concrete, soil, asphalt, and related materials, including: Moisture content Liquid limit and plastic limit Particle density Particle size distribution Dry density Compaction testing Sieve analysis Relative density and water absorption Perform concrete testing including: Concrete mix design Slump testing Density of fresh and hardened concrete Preparation and testing of concrete cylinders/cubes Compressive strength testing Flexural strength Modulus of rupture Absorption testing Bulk specific gravity Execute testing procedures in accordance with applicable industry standards and quality requirements Maintain accurate sample storage, tracking, logging, and disposal procedures Retrieve field samples and concrete cylinders from project sites as needed Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain compliance with all safety requirements Perform additional duties as assigned Why Join Us?
