Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for a high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) during night shift operations. Under the direction of nursing leadership, the Charge RN coordinates patient care activities, supports staff, ensures quality outcomes, and promotes efficient unit operations. Unit Overview The CICU is a 27-bed cardiac and medical critical care unit specializing in the care of patients with: Pre- and post-operative cardiac conditions Cardiomyopathy requiring mechanical circulatory support Heart failure and post-myocardial infarction (MI) management Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy Swan‑Ganz catheter monitoring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Pacemaker management Severe sepsis Respiratory failure Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations during assigned shifts. Coordinate and support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff in clinical and operational matters. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Assist with staffing, patient flow, resource allocation, and daily operational decisions. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and nursing standards of practice. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Support quality initiatives and performance improvement efforts within the department. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. One professional nursing certification in a related specialty. Minimum two (2) years of recent ICU experience in an acute‑care hospital setting. Previous Charge Nurse, Relief Charge Nurse, or nursing leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing. Additional leadership or supervisory experience in a critical care environment. Cardiac ICU or cardiovascular critical care experience preferred. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $141,294 - $223,100 annually Candidates with current or target compensation of $141,000+ annually are preferred.
