(Calif. Admin. Code Title 16 Ch. 13.2 Art. 4 Sect. 1398.44)Suggest and, as authorized, introduce new methods and techniquesKeep abreast of current trends and developments in the field. Demonstrate evidence of continuously seeking, acquiring and updating professional knowledge and skills in Physical TherapyShare execution of non-professional activities in the department, such as scheduling, charge slips, ordering supplies, maintenance of equipment, etc.May act as Senior Therapist of Dept. in the absence of the ManagerYou are responsible at all times to provide supervision of work done by an assistant:Be present in the same facility with assistant at least 50% of any workweekPerform and record evaluation of patientPlan each patient's program and determine which elements are to be performed by the assistantSupervising PT shall review and co-sign final summary documentation by PTA the same day of dischargePeriodically re-evaluate treatment programs, and assistant's and patient performanceNo supervision of more than two assistants at any timeQualifications:Education:B.A. or B.S. degree with completion of course work in a school or schools approved by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee so as to qualify for licensure by the State of California Department of Consumer AffairsLicense & Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)Physical Therapist - Physical Therapy Board of CaliforniaExperience:One year as a licensed Physical Therapist in an ambulatory setting or equivalent preferred. A new graduate is acceptable unless a specific number of years of experience is required at the time of hire due to the needs of the departmentC.A.R.E.S.
