Job Title: BAS Controls Estimator

Department: Building Automation Services (BAS)

Reports To: VP of Sales

Location: Harrisburg

Summary

The BAS Controls Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for building automation systems projects. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC control systems, construction documents, and project specifications. The estimator collaborates with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure proposals align with customer needs and company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review bid invitations, project plans, and specifications to determine scope and requirements.

• Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather necessary information.

• Develop detailed cost estimates for BAS projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical data.

• Prepare and submit proposals and bid packages in accordance with company standards.

• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure estimates meet client expectations and technical feasibility.

• Track and analyze project performance to refine future estimating practices.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BAS estimating or related technical field.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and building automation technologies.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
