About the Role
The Company is seeking a Market Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Primary Care. This pivotal role demands a clinical leader with a strong background in both clinical practice and operational management, particularly in the context of value-based care. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, developing and implementing clinical policies, driving quality improvement initiatives, and managing medical staff to align with organizational goals. A key aspect of the role is the ability to foster a patient-centered and value-based clinical vision, deliver leading clinical performance, and engage in strategic partnerships to optimize patient care and business outcomes. Candidates for the Market CMO position should be graduates of an accredited MD or DO program, with a preference for those specializing in internal medicine. A minimum of 10 years' clinical experience and 8 years' of management experience is required, along with active or current board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or geriatric medicine. The role also demands a deep understanding of clinical technology platforms, Medicaid and Medicare programs, and best practices in coding and documentation in a value-based environment. The Market CMO will be expected to lead a team of Associate Medical Directors and/or Physician Leads, and to work closely with the Market President and National Specialty team to build strong relationships with specialty providers and networks. The position is market-specific and may involve direct patient care, with the majority of time dedicated to administrative responsibilities.
