Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer Location: Canonsburg, PA. Position Type: Full Time. Day Shift. Reporting to Procurement Manager. Exempt employee. Job Description Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems. Copies data and compiles records and reports. Operated computer terminal to input and retrieve data. Purchases supplies. Data entry of all purchase orders. Assisting other departments when required. Review requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests, and contacts vendors to ascertain order status. Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality. Interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items. Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Traveling when needed to meet project requirements; role can be performed remotely with 30–50% travel. Skill Requirements Ability to obtain and review quotations from vendors for projects. Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities to expedite projects and meet due dates. Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage the purchasing budget, check for missing material, and follow up on partial deliveries. Ability to maintain budget reports. Ability to handle nonconformance with the Quality department. Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred. Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired. Working knowledge of SAP.
