Install, remove, and troubleshoot communication and safety equipment in vehicles. Install two-way radios in vehicles: mount the radio chassis in the trunk and the radio head in the front, run power and data cables from the chassis to the head, wire the power, and install the antenna in the roof of the vehicle. Install additional electronic equipment as directed. Install light bars, full lighting packages, push bumpers, consoles, cages and partitions, license plate readers and other assorted electronics in police vehicles, ambulances, buses, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats and trains. Work primarily at the New York State Police garage in Salt Point with occasional assignments at NYSEG locations and Department of Corrections facilities. Travel opportunities may arise; a company vehicle and all expenses will be provided when required. Requirements Experience in vehicle mechanics and wiring. Mechanic’s tool set. Neat work standards. Valid NYS driver’s license. Ability to supervise staff. Contingent upon passing a background check and a drug test. Compensation Pay will be negotiated based on experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
