Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Norfolk, VA Pay: $2,349 to $2,494 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 7/20/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is partnered with AMN Healthcare to place a qualified ER/Trauma RN at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department is a large, academic unit with 40 beds, serving over 70,000 patients annually. The role requires a comprehensive skill set and the ability to manage a high volume of critical patients. Responsibilities Provide advanced emergency care to patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, STEMI, stroke, trauma, and other acute conditions. Perform moderate and deep sedation, central venous line insertion, laceration repair, traction, BIPAP and ventilator management, chemical restraints, and cardiac monitoring. Manage intravenous drips such as levophed, norepinephrine, esmolol, nitroglycerin, dopamine, and dobutamine. Maintain a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:4‑5 within a Level 1 Trauma setting. Utilize tele‑interpretation and other multidisciplinary resources as needed. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license, current and in good standing. Minimum 18 months of ER/RN experience within the last 3 years, including Level 1 Trauma experience. At least 2 years of total ER experience; 1 recent travel assignment acceptable. Certifications: BLS‑AHA, ACLS‑AHA, PALS‑AHA, CERT‑TNCC, CERT‑NIH Stroke Scale. Availability for nights, 3 days a week on a 12‑hour shift schedule.
