Sr. APeX Application Analyst - Willow Ambulatory

Job Description Job Description The Sr. APeX Application Analyst functions as the primary support contact and expert for the application. They work under the direction of the Team Lead and/or Manager to configure, build & install the application. They coordinate all issues that arise during the project for their application area. Key operational activities include primary responsibility to analyze workflows and understand policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations supported by the application. In depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality is required. Key technical activities include the analysis of new releases to determine how workflow should be modified, building and populating databases and tables during initial system configuration, conducting system testing and conversion data validation. The application analyst develops and documents internal procedures and establishes change control processes for the application. As a Sr. APeX Application Analyst the candidate is expected to lead project/initiatives within the team/department. Job Description The Sr. APeX Application Analyst also develops user training aids and trains end users in workflow and use of the application. They function as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, go‑live, stabilization and on‑going support (7x24). Successful candidates are skilled communicators who make decisions independently and in collaboration with others up and down the project structure. They are considered technical leaders with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt the use of the application. Responsibilities Lead and/or conduct the planning and implementation of clinical software, hardware, operating systems and/or distributed clinical information systems at all levels of complexity and scope. Advise peers or manage improvements in optimization and improved functionality. Work on highly complex initiatives to perform advanced analyses of patient care workflow and processes in various clinical departments, and to plan, develop, and define information technology solutions for improved system integration, functionality, and outcomes. Contribute to new and innovative workflows to improve operational efficiencies. Demonstrate efficiency and independence in complex projects while working autonomously with negligible direction from Supervisor and/or Manager. Serve as a technical leader, conducting in-depth analysis and documentation of system specifications and identifying process changes as a result of system upgrades and new releases. Lead teams and committees in developing highly complex project plans, and provide senior staff and management with guidance and recommendations for improvements in quality, efficiency, and functionality. Lead the development of new projects at high levels of complexity and broad scope. Function as a resource to resolve systems analysis and testing issues. Work to resolve technical challenges, as well as interpersonal and/or team performance issues in regards to development. Design and conduct user training in complex clinical information system workflows and processes, hardware and/or operating systems with broad scope. Troubleshoot complex issues of broad scope with clinical software, hardware, operating systems and/or distributed clinical information systems. Identify and coordinate service and support as needed between clinical engineering, IT, networks, departments and outside vendors. Develop, collaborate and implement new functionality, testing, workflows, processes, system designs or developments as needed. Coordinate development of new Standard SOP to assist in standardization of routine processes to support the technology used by the business unit. Support change and innovation. Seek improvements in services. Consult with clinicians, using feedback to improve use of technology for the clinical and business users. Realign based upon business and clinical needs. Look to new opportunities to address customer service challenges. Document issues and develop/communicate plans to address. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience / training. PharmD degree. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Epic Willow Ambulatory Application Certification. Broadly encompassing or highly in‑depth knowledge of 1‑2 areas of focus in retail/specialty pharmacy. Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation. Ability to apply advanced problem‑resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner. Advanced interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical users and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, to convey highly technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical users and staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner. Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use. Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends. Preferred Qualifications Advanced organizational and project management skills, and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule. Academic Medical Center experience with 5+ years of Epic experience. Epic Willow Specialty Pharmacy Application Certification. Epic Willow Inpatient Application Certification.
