Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Power Electronics Engineer based out of Baltimore, MD.Roles and Responsibilities:Design power supply hardware, including simulation and analysis, schematic development, component selection, and printed wiring board (PWB) layout.Conduct technical trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and optimize performance.Perform worst-case analysis and component stress analysis to ensure design robustness and reliability.Provide manufacturing support for hardware builds, including resolving production issues and implementing improvements.Develop Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and perform initial hardware checkout and testing.Work in a laboratory environment to support hardware development, integration, and production activities.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, master's degree with 10 years of experience, Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.U.S Citizenship is required.Active US Government Secret clearance12 years of hands-on power supply or power systems design and development experience.12 years of experience with basic isolated and non-isolated circuit topologies & control techniques.12 years of Familiar with simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, LTSpice, SABER), MathCad.Preferred Qualifications:Familiar with power supply EMI/EMC filtering and designDigital control experienceActive power factor correction design experienceMagnetic component design experienceHigh voltage design experience (up to 200 kV)Working knowledge of power related Mil-Stds for power quality and electromagnetic interferenceHardware development team leadership experienceGood verbal and written communication skillsNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
