POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Advisor (HR Advisor) role is responsible for Tier 2 inquiries and support requests, including advising managers and employees on leave administration, absenteeism, workplace accommodations, performance concerns, and compliance with company policies and employment legislation. This position investigates, researches, resolves, and responds to a variety of employment-related matters, including leave of absence administration, FMLA, ADA accommodations, onboarding, and terminations. The HR Advisor serves within a centralized HR Shared Services model, providing consistent support across all Ardent entities. The role partners with leaders, employees, HR Business Partners, and leave vendors to ensure leave programs are administered consistently, compliantly, and with a high level of customer service while supporting process standardization and continuous improvement. 

• Guide managers and employees regarding Ardent company policies, values, HR programs (benefits, pay, and salary) administration, and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
• Manage and coordinate all aspects of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, General Medical Leave, Personal Leave, Military Leave, and applicable state leave programs. 
• Manage FMLA process including accommodations and General Medical Leave. Monitor leave process and collaborate with Human Resources teams and managing the process alongside our leave vendor.
• Manage unemployment claims and requests.
• Support in documenting corrective actions with Employee Relations Team and be the escalation point for complex leaves, accommodation, and return to work matters
• Participate in the preboarding process through scheduling and conducting I9 appointments and entering in E-verify systems.
• New Employee Orientation includes setting up rooms, sending calendar invites, present portions of NEO, tracking attendance.  Coordinate catering and assist with speaker setup and facilitation. Advisors partner to finalize I9 documents. Time commitment may range from 4–8 hours in a single day.
• Distribute weekly reports to managers and Human Resources on expiring licenses and certifications. Work with leaders and employees to get licenses and certifications updated and current.
• Serve as a primary resource for employees and leaders regarding leave programs and leave-related questions. Administer leave cases through a centralized service delivery model to ensure consistency across all facilities. Partner with third-party administrators such as Sedgwick to monitor case activity, resolve escalations, and ensure timely processing. 
• Review leave documentation and certifications to ensure compliance and policy adherence. Monitor leave metrics, trends, service levels, and case volumes and recommend process improvements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, job aids, and training materials related to leave administration. Conduct audits of leave records and transactions to ensure data integrity and consistency. 

• Associates degree
  • Additional years of experience may be substitute for the required education on year-for-year basis.
• 3+ years of HR experience
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience administering employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave of absence management. 
• Working knowledge of federal and state leave laws and regulations. 
• Experience managing confidential employee cases and interpreting leave documentation. 
• Experience in a centralized HR Shared Services or high-volume case management environment preferred. 
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of dedicated leave administration experience. 
• Experience partnering with third-party leave administrators such as Sedgwick. 
• Experience developing standardized HR processes and service delivery models. 
• SHRM or HRCI certification.
