Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking experienced Labor & Delivery and Nursery RN to provide comprehensive care for patients in a rural community hospital. The role involves managing childbirth deliveries, neonatal care, and couplet care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor laboring patients using intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
• Provide direct bedside care to mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to assist other departments as needed, maintaining flexibility in patient assignments.
• Take on charge nurse duties when assigned, with additional compensation.
• Maintain current Hawaii nursing license and adhere to hospital protocols and clinical standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Hawaii RN license.
• Demonstrate prior labor and delivery and nursery nursing experience.
• Exhibit proficiency in fetal monitoring, with intermediate or advanced skills.
• Capable of managing a high volume of deliveries, approximately 45-50 per month.
• Willing to work 72-80 hours biweekly, with flexibility for additional responsibilities.
• Possess strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
