Stores Clerk I – University Housing and Dining Department Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Hours: 40 scheduled hours per week, ongoing position expected to continue. Follow FIFO guidelines, verify expiration dates, product quality, and inspect for damage. Distribute merchandise to internal locations using pallet jacks when necessary and assist with inventory as assigned. Maintain proper cleaning and sanitation standards in the work area, including freezers and coolers, ensuring overall facility cleanliness. Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, supervisors, and customers. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility and provide excellent customer service. Adhere to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance, trainings, and compliance. Complete and maintain required Food Safety Training, including Texas FoodHandler Safety. Follow work safety guidelines and use proper PPE as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school graduation, GED, or vocational school. Six months of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in stores or warehouse units. Six months of experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining. Preferred Qualifications More than six months of experience in stock handling, maintaining records, receiving, storing, handling, and issuing food and food service supplies. Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision. Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral University and Housing and Food policies, procedures, and work-related instructions and requests from supervisors, customers, and co‑workers. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills; professional demeanor and ability to work with staff and the customer base. Salary $37,440+ depending on qualifications. Shift differential of $2.00 per hour for evening and weekend shifts.
