Senior Accountant

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Huntington Beach, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands‑on accounting work, financial reporting, account analysis, and supporting accurate month‑end and year‑end close processes. The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership and internal departments to maintain reliable financial records, resolve discrepancies, and support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal review and audit support. Analyze account variances, identify discrepancies, and work with internal departments to resolve issues. Maintain organized accounting records, update financial systems, and support process improvements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special accounting projects assigned by the accounting manager. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Job type: Temporary with potential to become temp‑to‑hire for the right candidate. Location: Huntington Beach, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting support. Support month‑end close, year‑end close, audit preparation, and account variance analysis. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and accounting process improvement initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. 6 to 10 years of accounting experience preferred for this Senior Accountant role. Experience with AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account analysis. Ability to identify discrepancies, research variances, and collaborate with departments to resolve accounting issues. Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. SAP experience is helpful, and training will be provided. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines. Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with accounting leadership and cross‑functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience using SAP or a similar ERP accounting system. Prior experience supporting audits, budgeting, forecasting, or special accounting projects. Experience in a fast‑paced accounting department with recurring close deadlines. Strong problem‑solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
