25-26 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) - Nursing

Position Summary Successful applicant will teach practicum courses in nursing. The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as Practicums in Medical/Surgical, Obstetric, or Pediatrics Nursing, or other classes identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students. Instructor Responsibility Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual306, paragraph2. Instructors prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Required Qualifications Education: A master’s degree in Nursing. Experience: Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all; clinical experience in the identified clinical area. Preferred Qualifications A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level. A commitment to teaching excellence at the graduate level, exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence. National Certification in Family Nurse Practitioner. Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing. Clinical experience in Psychosocial Nursing. Clinical experience in Pediatric Nursing. Clinical experience in Obstetrical Nursing. Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical and Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing. Public Health Nurse Certificate required for the Community Health course. NURS267 – Practicum in Secondary Prevention, Family Nurse Practitioner: supervising graduate students in the clinical setting, completing student clinical evaluation and a site evaluation. NURS278 – Practicum in Tertiary Prevention, Family Nurse Practitioner: supervising graduate students in the clinical setting, completing student clinical evaluation and a site evaluation.
