Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $23 - $23 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Yard Driver:

• Operate yard trucks (hostlers/yard jockey) to hook, move and position tractor-trailers holding 40' shipping containers for the grain loading operation

• Responsible for accurately documenting container numbers and weights

• Assist with the unloading process of inbound hopper trucks, and work well as part of a small team to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines

• Employees are expected to learn and follow safety policies and procedures at all times

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• Must have a valid driver's "Class D" license. CDL is NOT required but is a plus

• Hostler experience needed, 2 years of experience operating yard trucks (Hostler or Yard Dog), and maneuvering tractor-trailers. Related experience or related driving may be considered

• Eager to master operating a Hostler to back-up yard trailers into position

• Follow all safety practices and adherence to safety policies and procedures of the facility

• Show a willingness to be cross trained in all functions on the team

• Basic data entry skills; able to accurately document container numbers

• Good interpersonal communication skills

• Work well in a fast-paced outdoor environment with great attendance

• Must be able to physically climb up and down transloading equipment and ladders safely

• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and maintain balance throughout the day

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and sub-freezing temperatures

• Ability to carry fifty (50) pounds

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
