As a Tow Driver, you'll play a crucial role in helping drivers and customers in need. You will communicate with dispatchers, respond to accidents or breakdowns, safely secure vehicles, and transport them to their destinations. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely secure disabled vehicles using straps, chains, winches, steering locks, and other devices, including using a tow mate for lights
- Communicate effectively with advocates and demonstrate basic automotive knowledge
- Perform minor repairs on-site, such as tire changes, part reconnections, or jumpstarts
- Complete required paperwork and collect payment via credit card or cash
- Follow MNDOT policies and procedures
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Pass background check
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Prior towing experience is a plus but not required
- Automotive repair experience is a bonus
