We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented porter to maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and distribution facility. In this role, you support daily operations by cleaning work areas, removing trash, assisting with general labor tasks, and helping ensure that facility cleanliness and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility across warehouse and distribution areas.
• Clean work areas, common spaces, and restrooms as needed to meet cleanliness standards.
• Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas and dispose of them properly.
• Support warehouse operations with general labor tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Ensure floors, walkways, and workstations remain free of debris and obstructions.
• Use cleaning tools and supplies to perform sweeping, mopping, wiping, and sanitizing tasks.
• Monitor facility conditions and promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and facility guidelines during daily tasks.
• Lift, push, and pull materials and equipment safely throughout the shift.
• Work independently while staying productive and meeting daily cleaning and upkeep expectations.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to coordinate tasks and priorities.
• Adapt to different shift schedules and workload demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain strong attendance and punctuality to support consistent facility operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience with cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, or general labor tasks.
• Reliability and strong attendance, with a commitment to punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and remain productive throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment throughout the shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a busy warehouse environment.
• Flexibility to work any shift: 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, or 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with ongoing activity.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Dependable transportation to and from the facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous porter, janitorial, warehouse, or custodial experience preferred.
• Comfort working in a large distribution environment with varying temperatures.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute positively in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to take on general labor tasks to support warehouse operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and distribution center setting with a fast-paced operation and ongoing activity throughout each shift. You will spend most of your time standing, walking, lifting, and performing cleaning and general labor tasks. The environment includes different temperature zones and requires adherence to safety procedures at all times. You work as part of a team that values safety, cleanliness, and collaboration while maintaining a productive environment.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
