Dishwasher/Porter

As the Dishwasher/Porter, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, cleaning, detailing, and sanitizing equipment and tools. Properly cleansing and sanitizing all dishes, utensils, pots and pans, kitchen vessels, and sweeping and mopping floors. Maintain the kitchen, dish washing and back area in an "inspection-ready" condition in accordance with local authority and company guidelines. Assists with cleaning other areas of the kitchen as requested.

Other responsibilities include assisting with basic food preparation as directed by supervisor or chef on duty following food safety guidelines.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain floors, drainers, freezer, cooler, and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following standard procedures. Creating a safe work environment
• Wash, Wipe, Sort, stack dishes, and load/unload dishwasher
• Operate dish machine and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist in light food preparation as directed by supervisor or chef on duty.
• Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures and ensures waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
• Dispose of waste as per the company, authority standards, and adhere to recycling guidelines
• If any breakages or chipped items are found, then remove them from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register.
• Clean, sanitize and close workstations.
• Clean equipment and large equipment as assigned, ensure is in good working order, and follow established procedures.
• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations and refrigerators.
• Uses and maintains all equipment's according to manufacturer and department guidelines.
• Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the dept manager.
• Consistently adheres to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace.
• Check all chemical levels and inventory.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to move and lift heavy objects
• Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines
• Knowledge and proficiency to operate, clean, and maintain industrial dish washers
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors
• Prioritize and work efficiently with limited direction
• Follow all company standards, uniform standard, safety and sanitation regulations

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time
• Lifting loads of up to 80 lbs
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
