We believe that mental health and academic success are inseparable — and our OMHC is a critical pillar of our wraparound continuum of care.Position SummaryThe Outpatient Mental Health Clinician & Service Delivery Coordinator is a dual-role position that combines direct clinical service delivery with administrative coordination responsibilities. In the clinical capacity, this position provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health challenges. In the service delivery coordinator capacity, this position supports the operational efficiency of the OMHC — including scheduling, service authorization, documentation oversight, referral management, and coordination of care across internal programs and external providers. This role is ideal for a licensed clinician who brings both strong therapeutic skills and organizational leadership instincts.Key ResponsibilitiesCLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIESDirect Clinical ServicesProvide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families with diverse mental health needs including trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and co-occurring conditionsConduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned to client goals and evidence-based best practicesImplement evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed practice, and other clinically appropriate frameworksMonitor and document client progress toward treatment goals and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicatedFacilitate group therapy sessions as assigned — including psychoeducational, process, and skills-based groupsProvide crisis intervention services and safety planning for clients experiencing acute mental health crisesCollaborate with psychiatrists, prescribers, and medical providers to coordinate integrated care for clients with co-occurring medical and mental health needsProvide mandated reporting as required by Maryland law for any suspected abuse or neglectTreatment Documentation & ComplianceComplete all required clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes — including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and prior authorization requestsEnsure all documentation meets COMAR, CARF, and OMHC regulatory and licensing standardsMaintain client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with HIPAA and agency policiesParticipate in clinical supervision, peer consultation, and quality assurance reviewsSERVICE DELIVERY COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIESScheduling & Access to CareManage and maintain the OMHC client scheduling system — including new client intake appointments, ongoing therapy sessions, group schedules, and provider availabilityCoordinate client waitlist management — prioritizing access based on clinical urgency and service availabilityMonitor scheduling gaps and work proactively with clinical staff to maximize service delivery capacityEnsure timely scheduling of initial appointments for new referrals — target first appointment within established access-to-care timelinesReferral Management & Care CoordinationReceive, screen, and process incoming referrals from schools, hospitals, community partners, and self-referralsCoordinate warm handoffs and transitions of care between OMHC services and other Children's Guild programs — including therapeutic schools, group homes, and TFCMaintain relationships with external referral sources and community partners — including pediatricians, school counselors, DCS, and community mental health organizationsFacilitate coordination of care with outside providers — including psychiatrists, hospitals, PCPs, and specialized service providersAuthorization & Billing CoordinationInitiate and manage insurance authorizations for outpatient mental health services — including initial authorizations, concurrent reviews, and appealsCoordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claimsMonitor authorization expirations and initiate renewals proactively to prevent gaps in serviceAssist clients and families in navigating insurance coverage, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance optionsQuality & Operational OversightTrack and report key OMHC service delivery metrics — including no-show rates, wait times, authorization approval rates, and client retentionIdentify operational gaps and recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery efficiency and client experienceSupport preparation for OMHC regulatory audits, CARF accreditation reviews, and licensing site visitsAssist in onboarding new clinical staff to OMHC scheduling, documentation, and authorization systemsTeam Communication & CollaborationServe as a communication bridge between clinical staff, administrative staff, billing, and leadershipFacilitate regular coordination meetings between clinical and administrative teamsSupport clinical director with staff scheduling, coverage planning, and operational reportingQualificationsRequiredMaster's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical fieldActive Maryland licensure — LMSW, LGPC, LCSW, or LCPC requiredMinimum 2 years of direct clinical experience in an outpatient or community mental health settingExperience with children, adolescents, and families with complex mental health and trauma historiesKnowledge of COMAR OMHC regulations, HIPAA, and mental health documentation standardsStrong organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsExperience with electronic health record (EHR) systemsAbility to manage competing priorities across clinical and administrative responsibilitiesPreferredExperience in a dual clinical/administrative or clinical coordinator roleFamiliarity with Medicaid billing, prior authorization processes, and insurance coordinationCARF accreditation experienceExperience with trauma-informed care frameworks — TF-CBT, DBT, Motivational InterviewingBilingual (English/Spanish) a
