Here, you’re not just another employee — you’re part of a crew that takes pride in powering what’s next.Why Us Stability + Growth – Established company with a strong backlog of major projects Impactful Work – Be part of high-profile, large-scale electrical builds Empowered Professionals – We trust our experts to lead and innovate Team-First Culture – Collaboration, respect, and accountability drive our success Strong Benefits Investment – Company-paid health coverage + 401(k) match Career Development – We promote from within and value long-term growthIf you want your work to matter — and your expertise to be valued — Lighthouse Electric is where you belong.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Virtual Design Construction Specialist is responsible for carrying out assigned pre-construction tasks effectively and efficiently, while adhering to company standards and actively participating in continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesA VDC Specialist I is responsible for the following:Produces, edits, and coordinates 3D object-oriented modelsProduces, annotates, and details fabrication and field installation shop drawingsParticipates in the development of, and provides feedback for, the continuous improvement of workflows and standard operating proceduresIdentifies model related issues to the project teamMaintains regular contact with their project teamDevelops a basic knowledge of BIM software, 3D design, and construction documentsPerforms other duties as assigned by managementA VDC Specialist II is responsible for VDC Specialist I activities and the following:Acts as a mentor to newer team membersAttends and participates in virtual construction, clash detection, and coordination meetingsSeeks ways to infuse quality and labor savings into overall Building Information Modeling (BIM) effortsAssists in the development and continuous improvement of the company's BIM related goals, initiatives, and standardsAssists in developing new ways to utilize model-based information in various phases of projectsA VDC Specialist III is responsible for VDC Specialist I and II activities and the following:Acts as a mentor/leader within projects teams and within the department as a wholeProvides continuous peer feedback, evaluates current workflows for efficiency, and shares best practices to encourage personal and professional peer developmentActs as the point of contact in virtual construction, clash detection, and coordination meetings, communicating and delegating pertinent information to the project team.Develops and maintains professional relationships with designers, owners, and sub-contractorsA VDC Specialist IV is responsible for VDC Specialist I, II and III activities and the following:Participates in identifying and strategizing the execution of all project modeling requirementsEnsures Revit project set up is correct and in line with company standardsCreates, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of all BIM related schedules and bill of materialsMaintains, monitors, and QCs the health of project BIM modelsEnsures all team members understand and adhere to assigned scope of work, project requirements, specs, deliverables, schedule, and department standardsQualificationsEducationAssociate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar , preferredRequiredDemonstrated knowledge of and experience in:Reading floor plans, sections, and elevationsBIM360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook, Navisworks, Revit, and file sharing platformsAbove required for VDC II and higherDemonstrated competency modeling from a 2D document to produce a 3D modelPreferredConstruction experienceEffective interoffice collaborationSkilled problem-solving ability and a strong sense of urgencyEfficient organizational and communication skillsAbility to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environmentSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design or marketing tools (Canva, Adobe, or similar) is a plus.Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceCompany-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insuranceShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityLife and AD&D insurance401(k) with 5% company matchPaid HolidaysPaid Time OffAnnual performance reviewsOpportunity to work on large-scale, high-profile projectsEmployee Stock Ownership Program:We don't just work for lighthouse-we own it.
