Entry level accountant

Description: Small CPA office is seeking a part-time accountant/bookkeeper for immediate hire. The individual hired will be responsible for the accurate preparation of financial statements for monthly small business clients. Responsibilities include data entry, bank reconciliation procedures, preparation of sales tax and payroll tax reports, and payroll processing. The current software to perform these tasks is QuickBooks desktop and online. Qualifications: The position requires a candidate to have a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass a background check. The ideal candidate will possess an associate’s degree in accounting or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting. Current and relevant experience as a bookkeeper or accountant can be substituted in place of education. The position requires a general understanding of accounting concepts, to be able to perform the duties independently, and experience using QuickBooks. The part-time position is Monday - Friday. Due to the part-time nature of the position, hours and days will be flexible. Our office continues to grow and this position is likely to become full-time in the future with room to move up in the firm. During January - April, more hours may be necessary.
