Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing ultrasound imaging procedures to evaluate cardiac function, including m-mode, 2-D, pulse and continuous Doppler, color Doppler, contrast, and stress echocardiograms. They interpret results, complete detailed worksheets, and ensure accurate documentation to support cardiac patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire high-quality echocardiographic images while adhering to established protocols.
• Interpret ultrasound data and prepare detailed reports for physicians.
• Educate patients on procedures, addressing their concerns and explaining each step clearly.
• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures involving echocardiography.
• Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper operation and cleanliness.
• Support and mentor students and fellows with hands-on training and evaluation.

Qualifications:

• Current credential as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or equivalent certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in echocardiography preferred.
• Proficiency in operating all ultrasound equipment and related technology.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and patient transfers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bachelors of Science in a relevant field preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required.
