Elastomeric Parts Quality InspectorReport To: Quality ManagerPurpose: Performs functions to assure dimensional integrity of new and existing elastomeric parts. Maintains a variety of related reports and records to provide to the company's customers. Assists in performing clerical duties, including answering the phones.Essential Functions:Review and analyze customer blueprints and/or other drawings of parts.Set up and operate Micro-Vu and other measuring equipment required to perform dimensional inspection and reports.Set-up and perform dimensional inspection; process and maintain initial sample inspection reports, PPAPs, and material certification requests.Prepare submission packets including capability studies, process flow diagrams, control plans, gauge repeatability, reliability studies, and failure mode effectiveness reports as required.Interface and maintain favorable relationships with customers.Maintain calibration records - calibrations are conducted at least four times per year and required preparation for the calibration team.Evaluate SPC areas regarding statistics; perform capability studies and interpret histogram distribution.Audit and enter data regarding revision levels of active parts and prints.Measure molds and products to ensure they meet customer specifications before molds are transported elsewhere.Maintain part files.Plan, layout, and assign work for employees, according to schedule and individual skills and abilities for most efficient quality operations.Participate in continuous improvement by providing ideas and suggestions that would improve cost-effectiveness, enhance general working conditions, and ensure safe working conditions.Train new employees on safety and other issues on an as-needed basis.Interpret, implement, and help to enforce employee compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.Perform other duties as directed by SupervisorAdditional Skills or Credentials:Two years of related experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Skilled at staying organized, multitasking, and planning workload.Great communication skills.Experience working for a manufacturer of elastomeric materials (preferred).Associates Degree (preferred).Experience supervising and/or training other employees (preferred).Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to lift 40 lbs.Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 8 hours.Robin Industries Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
