Petersburg, VA | $55,000–$65,000 | Full-time, flexible schedule; occasional evening meetings The Crater Planning District Commission (CPDC) is a regional planning agency composed of representatives from the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry, and Sussex and the Cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Petersburg, and Hopewell. The CPDC promotes regional cooperation, coordinates activities and policies of member localities, provides planning assistance to localities, and resolves service delivery problems involving one or more member locality. The agency is heavily involved in housing, economic development, transportation, and environmental planning, and often takes an interdisciplinary approach to addressing the region’s needs. The CPDC also serves as lead agency for the Crater Area Coalition on Homelessness (CACH), which serves the Cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Petersburg, and Hopewell; and the counties of Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry, and Sussex. CPDC is currently seeking a Program Specialist to support the daily operations of the CACH. They will be motivated to invest time in the communities served by the CACH and CPDC. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, grant writing, financial tracking, management skills, and competence in Microsoft Office Suite software. Responsibilities Assist Program Director in overseeing the homeless response system for the Crater region; Manage external communications for the program, including but not limited to: distributing resources, notifying community partners of funding opportunities, scheduling and providing meeting support for CACH membership, and distributing notices on behalf of the CACH Board as requested; Assist with grant preparation, submission, and reporting; Track disbursement of pass-through grant funds; Monitor grant subrecipients for compliance; Coordinate annual Point-In-Time and Housing Inventory Counts; Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline (Urban Planning, Public Administration, Social Work) 1 – 3 years of experience in housing, community development, or social services Valid Driver’s License and access to transportation Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, or Social Work Experience in Grant Management and Application Experience working with vulnerable populations Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage 14 days of Paid Time Off, plus state and federal holidays Crater PDC is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. #J-18808-Ljbffr Crater Planning District Commission
