This position is funded for 6 months; continuation past 6 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. Position Specifics Penn State Human Resources (HR) is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide outstanding support to the HR Data and Onboarding team. This position will support the data team as well as onboarding based on need. Responsibilities Providing a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to new employees joining the Penn State community. Assisting new employees with the completion of Form I-9 and other related onboarding requirements in accordance with Federal/State laws and University policies. Processing human resources and payroll forms in our Human Capital Management system, Workday. Ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. This is a benefits eligible position with an anticipated start date of mid-June. Qualifications The successful candidate must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, professionalism, the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; and a high degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information. Proficiency in Office365 suite is preferred. The successful candidate will also possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies; and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS). No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None. Background Checks/Clearances Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $34,800.00 - $50,500.00.
