Position Overview

We are seeking two Compliance Engineers to join a leading team at Caterpillar, supporting New Product and New Technology initiatives. The successful candidates will ensure that product designs for drivetrain components, batteries, chargers, fuel cells, and other electrification-related systems meet safety regulations and industry standards.

This is a highly collaborative role that involves working directly with cross-functional engineering teams to interpret standards, compile evidence, and guide compliance activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply regulatory and industry safety standards (ISO, IEC) for electrical and mechanical components.
• Conduct risk assessments (including DFMEA) and provide compliance insights during the design and validation phases.
• Ensure engineering validation and test reports satisfy regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product development, testing, and validation teams to ensure alignment with safety and compliance standards.
• Support documentation development to demonstrate compliance for drivetrain components, batteries, fuel cells, chargers, and related systems.
• Communicate compliance requirements clearly and effectively to engineers across disciplines.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years.
• Degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in product development, design, testing, or validation.

Technical Skills:

• Understanding of designing or testing electrical products.
• Familiarity with safety aspects such as creepage/clearance, internal resistance testing, overvoltage categories, and functional safety.
• Experience with ISO and IEC standards.
• Knowledge and practical experience with DFMEA.
• Candidates with electrical harness experience are acceptable if they understand system integration.
