Read on to learn more about an exciting opportunity to join our team.Impact You’ll MakeExecute and lead Accounting & Reporting Advisory engagements with primary responsibility for research and preparation of client deliverablesPrepare and review account reconciliations and support communication with client, identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and escalating matters as appropriate.Review and analyze complex contracts, conducting and supporting technical accounting research and documenting conclusions in accordance with applicable guidance.Prepare and contribute to the review of accounting memoranda and policies, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with accounting standards.What You’ll DoPartner with clients ranging from early stage to large publicly traded organizations in an industry agnostic environmentPrepare and review of account reconciliations and communication with client vendorsReview of complex contracts and the related technical accounting researchPreparation of accounting memoranda and policiesDetermine appropriate journal entries and other operational accounting mattersPreparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosuresResearch on SEC filing requirements, and preparation of supporting accounting schedules and other audit supportServe as post-acquisition integration SME including demonstrating familiarity with standard IMO practices and proceduresServe as a technical accounting subject-matter expert for the firm’s valuation practice, providing ad hoc research and supportOversee day-to-day accounting operations for clients including management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing and posting payroll, preparing and posting journal entriesActively involved in business development including client pursuits and proposalsIdentify areas to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environmentsInteract with finance-focused ERPs, e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, OracleLeverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance research, streamline deliverable preparation, and improve overall efficiency and insight.The selected candidate will be an entrepreneurial self-starter, who is interested in participating in growth of service line within the established firm.What You BringBroad knowledge of US GAAP, which may include: purchase accounting, derivatives, complex debt and equity securities, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, and lease accountingFinancial statement preparationExperience interpreting complex accounting standards/treatment and documenting into practical termsDeep experience with M&A transactions, particularly with post-acquisition integrationAICPA and PCAOB-level audit readiness preferredExperience presenting to the c-suite and executive tierEntrepreneurial and client-service focusedStrong organizational skillsFamiliarity with accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, and ExpensifyFamiliarity with or interest in using AI tools and technology to enhance productivity, research, and analysis.Relationship-focused (with clients, peers, management, etc.)Positive and enthusiastic attitudeExcels in a team-oriented work environmentShows creativity in problem solvingAccountability and ability to multi-taskStrong technical and analytical skillsFamiliarity with or interest in using AI tools and technology to enhance productivity, research, and analysis.Education and/or Training:Bachelor of Finance or Accounting5+ years of finance process and / or transformation experienceDemonstrated expertise in industries such as but not limited to: manufacturing, CPG, healthcare, and financial servicesCombination of audit and advisory experiencePost-acquisition transaction experience preferredCPA preferredHow You’ll ThriveEmbrace changing client-imposed deadlines with flexibility and adaptability.Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively.Collaborate with engagement leaders and team members while embodying Stout’s core values: Positive and Team-Oriented, Accountable, Committed, Relationship-Focused, Super-Responsive, and being Great communicators.Demonstrate a commitment to delivering Relentless Excellence in client service and team collaboration.Why Stout?At Stout, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards program with competitive compensation, benefits, and wellness options tailored to support employees at every stage of life.We foster a culture of inclusion and respect, embracing diverse perspectives and experiences to drive innovation and success. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
