Pay Range: Targeted stipend of $920.53 per month, based on experience and education, paid bi-weekly Benefits Eligible: Yes Work Schedule: .5 FTE. Variable, averages 20 hours per week. Some weeks, including awareness months, major campus events, and high-volume pantry periods, may require additional hours. Occasional evenings and weekends required. Travel: Not required Position Introduction The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Advocacy & Education is one, intentionally integrated, professional graduate position within the Office of Advocacy & Education (OAE). This single role is structured as a split assignment and is designed to bridge two critical areas of student support: survivor advocacy and basic needs access. The selected GA will contribute meaningfully to initiatives that advance student safety, dignity, equity, and well-being at the University of Oklahoma. OU Advocates provides confidential, survivor-centered support to students, staff, and faculty impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. The OU Food Pantry addresses basic needs insecurity by providing shelf-stable food, fresh fruits and vegetables, and nutrition education. Through this integrated position, the GA will assist with outreach, programming, volunteer coordination, data tracking, and administrative support across both program areas. This role is designed to provide applied experience in trauma-informed practice, crisis-informed communication, student support systems, and basic needs program administration. The role requires maturity, discretion, initiative, and a strong commitment to social justice and student development. The Graduate Assistant appointment includes a bi-weekly stipend and health insurance coverage. Graduate Assistants are required to work an average of 20 hours per week during the academic year. Schedule will vary based on event needs and may include nights and weekends around their class schedule. Graduate Assistant for the Office of Advocacy & Education responsibilities include: Upholding the mission and values of the Office of Advocacy & Education. Maintaining professional boundaries and strict confidentiality. Fostering an environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and dignity for all individuals. Supporting outreach, educational initiatives, and campus partnerships. Assisting with data collection, reporting, and assessment efforts. Maintaining accurate records in accordance with departmental expectations. Collaboration with campus and community partners. Participating in regular supervision meetings and professional development. Assisting with special projects, events, and awareness initiatives. Performing other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree. Must be a current or incoming OU Graduate Student planning to be enrolled in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Will be required to supply a Fall 2026 OU class schedule prior to beginning work. OU Advocates Responsibilities: Within the OU Advocates piece of the position, the GA will: Coordinate Advocate on-call scheduling, track coverage, and communicate updates to the Advocate team. Assist with survivor follow-up tracking and documentation logistics, supporting timely and accurate record-keeping in the case management system. Coordinate scheduling for monthly Advocate meetings, semester 1:1s, and recurring training events, including room reservations, reminders, and materials prep. Support the planning and logistics of outreach events, community tours, and campus partner trainings, including research, materials development, and attendance tracking. Research current GBV data and trends to support training content development and program assessment. Assist with Clery Act data organization and reporting preparation. Support outreach efforts and awareness campaigns, including SAAM, DVAM, and Denim Day programming. Help maintain confidential program procedures and ethical documentation practices. OU Food Pantry Responsibilities: Within the OU Food Pantry piece of the position, the GA will: Assist with daily pantry operations, including stocking, inventory tracking, and customer service, as needed. Support volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling. Coordinate and assist with food drives, tabling events, and outreach initiatives. Maintain usage data, donation records, and assessment tracking. Support partnership development with student organizations, campus departments, and community agencies. Assist with special projects related to food insecurity education and financial literacy initiatives. Benefits: Tuition waiver. $920.53 monthly stipend paid biweekly (10-month agreement). Required Certifications and Licenses: None Department Preferences: Graduate studies emphasis in social work, public health, human relations, counseling, higher education, or similar fields. Experience in victim advocacy, crisis response, or trauma-informed work. Experience with food insecurity initiatives, nonprofit work, or volunteer coordination.
