Specialist, Engineering (Onsite)

Merck seeks an engineering specialist to provide on-site support for non-sterile pharmaceutical operations at the Rahway, NJ FLEx facility. The role focuses on maintaining equipment, utilities, and facilities in compliance with GMP standards while supporting formulation and clinical batch development for oral solid dosage products.

Responsibilities

Maintain facility, utilities, and manufacturing equipment in GMP and Safety compliance
Troubleshoot equipment issues and partner with internal teams and vendors
Support equipment validation, manage changes, investigate deviations, and document GMP records
Identify root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and issue Quality Notifications
Coordinate installation and commissioning of new equipment and manage capital requests

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering plus minimum 2 years pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
Strong knowledge of cGMP, Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies
Familiarity with oral solid dosage equipment and manufacturing processes
Experience with Computerized Maintenance and Management Systems (CMMS)
Mechanical, electrical, and automation troubleshooting ability
Effective communication and technical writing skills
Strong computer proficiency

Compensation: $87,300-$137,400 base
