Group Therapy Lead

Full-Time | Hamilton, Ohio

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a Licensed Group Therapy Lead to provide clinical leadership and direct therapeutic services to children and adolescents in our Day Treatment program.

This role combines group therapy, individual counseling, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and clinical collaboration to create a structured, therapeutic environment where youth can build skills and make meaningful progress.

As a Group Therapy Lead, you'll work alongside Mental Health Group Specialists to lead daily therapeutic programming while maintaining a reduced individual caseload. The role is intentionally balanced between direct group services, individual clinical care, and collaboration, training, and administrative responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

Lead Therapeutic Group Services

• Serve as the clinical lead for daily Day Treatment group services
• Facilitate structured group therapy and social-emotional learning using evidence-based interventions
• Foster a safe, therapeutic, and structured group environment
• Build and maintain strong, unconditional therapeutic rapport with clients
• Implement behavior support plans (BSPs), individual service plans (ISPs), and crisis management strategies
• Apply CPI and de-escalation techniques during crisis situations
• Demonstrate proficiency in evidence-based behavior modification approaches, as trained
• Ensure group spaces are prepared, safe, organized, and stocked with necessary materials

Provide Individual Clinical Services

• Maintain a reduced individual caseload and provide individual counseling to assigned clients
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate levels of care
• Develop and implement treatment plan objectives based on individual client needs
• Provide resource and referral connections and coordinate care as needed
• Monitor client progress and use data to inform treatment planning and clinical documentation
• Support effective crisis intervention and response

Collaborate With Families, Schools & Treatment Teams

• Maintain regular communication with families, guardians, and school personnel
• Participate actively in supervision, case consultations, and treatment team meetings
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet client and program goals

Maintain Clinical Quality & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Contribute to quarterly quality and financial performance targets
• Maintain compliance with Ohio licensure and professional standards
• Apply appropriate billing codes and location types
• Use data and Credible reports to track client outcomes and performance
• Maintain confidentiality across all settings

Support Program Operations

• Complete required documentation and billing accurately and on time
• Help ensure program materials and group spaces are ready for daily services
• Participate in trainings and other professional development activities
• Respond flexibly and with initiative to changing client and program needs

Qualifications:

• Master's degree required
• Active Ohio licensure as an LPC, LSW, LPCC, or LISW
• Experience working in office, school, and/or mental health treatment settings
• Comfort working in a fast-paced therapeutic environment serving youth
• Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered care
