Position Overview

Our organization in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is seeking a Primary Care Physician specializing in Women's Health to become part of our dedicated team. This position will work closely with our Women's Health Center, collaborating with professionals in Gynecology, UroGynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology. The role encompasses preventive care, management of chronic diseases, reproductive and sexual health, wellness counseling, and the coordination of specialized care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary care services tailored for adult women.
• Conduct preventive health screenings and annual wellness check-ups.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical issues.
• Offer gynecological preventive services, including:
• Pap smears and cervical cancer screenings.
• Contraceptive counseling and management.
• Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• Management of menopause and perimenopause.
• Coordinate care with specialists such as OB/GYN, breast surgery, endocrinology, cardiology, and oncology.
• Create personalized care plans focusing on preventive health and lifestyle medicine.
• Manage conditions frequently affecting women, including:
• Hypertension.
• Diabetes.
• Thyroid disorders.
• Osteoporosis.
• Anxiety and depression.
• Obesity and metabolic syndrome.
• Advise patients on nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, sexual health, and healthy aging.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, population health projects, women's health outreach, and philanthropic efforts to enhance the program.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the Epic electronic health system.
• Support goals related to patient satisfaction, access, and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary personnel.
• This is primarily a full-time role, though part-time and flexible scheduling options are available.
• This position is ambulatory, with no hospital duties required.
• Participation in overnight telephone coverage in collaboration with a nearby physician group is necessary, but the volume is typically light, approximately once every five weeks.

Qualifications

Education

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Completion of residency training in:
• Family Medicine.
• Internal Medicine.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Licensure & Certification

• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in Florida.
• DEA registration.
• BLS certification is mandatory.

Typical Scope of Practice

The Women's Health Primary Care Specialist may provide:

• Annual preventive visits.
• Management of chronic diseases.
• Acute care for common primary care issues such as upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and other concerns.
• Care for menopause.
• Coordination of breast health screenings.
• Cardiovascular risk reduction strategies for women.
• Mental health screenings.
• Weight management counseling.
• Preventive immunizations.
• Sexual and reproductive health services.
