Litigation Legal Assistant – HYBRID in Costa Mesa - 4 days on site, 1 day remote
Robert Half Legal is partnering with a highly regarded, commercial and employment litigation law firm to identify a Litigation Legal Assistant.
This opportunity is best suited for a Litigation Legal Assistant with strong civil litigation experience who can independently manage filings, deadlines, and procedural requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level litigation support to attorneys across complex civil matters
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda
- Handle state and federal court filings
- Manage litigation calendars, court deadlines, and procedural timelines using firm software
- Identify and submit documents for docketing and ensure compliance with all court requirements
- Assist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materials and correspondence
- Support arbitration and trial preparation, including document organization and logistics
- Maintain accurate time records for billable tasks

Compensation
Salary range: $90,000–$115,000, plus performance-based holiday bonus.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation experience with strong exposure to federal court procedures
- Demonstrated experience handling filings and deadlines in federal court
- Ability to quickly learn and apply rules in new federal districts outside of California
- Strong understanding of court rules, local rules, and procedural compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint) and document management systems (NetDocuments preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak litigation or trial periods
