About Us

Cal Gaskets is a specialized commercial refrigeration company serving Northern California from Fresno to Redding, including the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We work with restaurant chains, fast food operators, grocery chains, and warehouse distributors — keeping their refrigeration units sealed, their compressors running, and their food safe.

We're a small, close-knit team of about 10 people. We do one thing and we do it well: gaskets and strip curtains. As we grow, we're looking for dependable people who take pride in their work and want to build something with us.

The Role

We're hiring a  Gasket Technician — someone we call a Gasketeer — to join our field and manufacturing team. You'll split your time between hands-on installation work at customer sites and production work at our facility. This is a physical, detail-oriented role that suits someone who's handy, self-motivated, and reliable.

What You'll Do

In the Field

• Install commercial refrigeration gaskets for walk-in coolers, doors, and drawers
• Install strip curtains, hinges, handles, and related hardware
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve customer concerns on-site
• Represent Cal Gaskets professionally with every customer interaction

In the Shop

• Measure and cut gasket materials to specification
• Stuff, clip, and weld gaskets
• Maintain an organized, safe workspace

Schedule

• Training period: Part-time to start, 2 days per week
• Typical shift: 5:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Early call times possible: As early as 4:00 am on some days
• Schedule expands as training progresses

Compensation

• $18 – $25 per hour , based on experience

• Clean driving record
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Able to keep company vehicles properly stocked and maintained
• Committed to a safe work environment and prompt to report any safety concerns to management
• Must have (or be willing to obtain) all safety items required for the job — all provided by the company
