We are seeking a Bench Technician to perform precision repairs and diagnostics on aircraft instruments and electronic components in a dedicated instrument shop environment. Unlike traditional aircraft maintenance roles, you'll work at a fully equipped bench station, troubleshooting and restoring critical avionics and instrumentation equipment with the support of an experienced, collaborative team.

What You'll Do

As a Bench Technician, you will inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair a wide variety of aircraft instrumentation and electronic assemblies, including:

• Altimeters

• Pressure instruments

• Gyroscopes

• Indicators

• Fuel flow transmitters

• Gauges and related aircraft components

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed bench-level troubleshooting and repair of aircraft instruments and electronic assemblies.

• Diagnose and repair component-level electronic failures on PCBs and subassemblies.

• Inspect, test, and verify equipment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, and other electronic test equipment.

• Repair and troubleshoot electric motors, control panels, relay boards, and power distribution components.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

• Perform precision soldering, rework, and component replacement.

• Clean, sand, prepare, and refurbish components as needed.

• Document inspection findings, repairs, and test results accurately.

• Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with fellow technicians to solve complex technical issues while maintaining ownership of your individual workload.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

✅ Minimum 1 year of hands-on electronics repair experience at the component level

✅ Strong understanding of analog electronics, including troubleshooting and repair

✅ Experience working with:

• Printed circuit boards (PCBs)

• Analog and analog/digital electronic systems

• Bench test equipment

• Electrical schematics and blueprints

✅ Proficiency with:

• Oscilloscopes

• Multimeters

• Voltmeters

• Soldering and rework tools

✅ Ability to troubleshoot and repair:

• Electric motors

• Control panels

• Relay boards

• Power distribution assemblies

✅ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

✅ Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Avionics experience

• Military electronics or maintenance background

• Aircraft instrumentation repair experience

• Familiarity with gyroscopes, altimeters, indicators, fuel flow transmitters, and gauges

• Knowledge of aircraft component repair processes and quality standards

• Willingness to learn new systems and expand technical expertise

Work Environment

This role is based in a dedicated aircraft instrument repair shop with a team of approximately 30 professionals. You'll spend your day at a fully equipped bench station performing hands-on diagnostics, testing, soldering, and precision repairs on aircraft components sent to the shop.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
